Lens Reviews

Welcome to the review section of my website. What you'll find here is a series of field tests of mostly old, mostly affordable manual focus lenses attached to the Sony A7s, the Sony a6000, the sony a6500, and as of summer 2018, the Sony A7iii.

The reviews below are organized chronologically, from newest to oldest. You can also browse by manufacturer in the Lens Index section.

If you're a video shooter, you might want to check out the Motion Studies page where you'll find short sample videos shot with some of the lenses.

If you'd like to get notified about new content (no more than once a month), please subscribe.

I was close to killing the site but just couldn't do it. It's been almost two years since my last review (Oly 24mm). These days, I have some extra time on my hands, so more reviews are coming. I'm shooting with these lenses now and have enough images to complete the following reviews soon....for real this time.

Nikkor 105 f2.5 (finally!)
Olympus PEN-f 38mm f1.8
Minolta MD 24mm f2.8
Samyang 85mm f1.4

Also, coming in the mail:
Tokina Firin 20mm f2 MF
Minolta 58mm Rokkor-PG 58mm f1.2
Olympus Zuiko 100mm f2
